Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies

Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies

I know there are endless versions of chocolate chip cookie recipes out there but when I first had these cookies I could tell there was way more than a hint of butter and brown sugar to them.  I also realized when I went to put this recipe in my collection that there was only one other recipe for chocolate chip cookies.  It was nice to have a new twist on a old favorite on hand, especially one that has an emphasis on brown sugar and butter!

My two favorite ways to eat chocolate chip cookies:

  1. As dough right before I put the chips in.
  2. A little burnt dipped in coffee.

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups of flour

1/2 cup white sugar

2 teaspoons of baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 eggs

1  tablespoon vanilla

1 cup butter flavored crisco shortening

1 bag chocolate chips

Directions:

Beat all dry ingredients together first and then add wet ingredients.  When the dough has come together add the chips at the very end. This dough can be frozen to use later or used right away...or eaten out of the bowl if you are not afraid of raw eggs.

Scoop out about a tablespoon of dough for each cookie but do not flatten them.

I think baking cookies is equal to Queen Victoria running an empire. There’s no different in how seriously you take the job, how seriously you approach your whole life.

The picture above is what happens when your apple-product-loving-husband is protesting you taking pictures of the cookies he wants to eat. Also can we all get excited about how much natural light I have on these picture for 7:30 pm? Thats reason enough to celebrate with cookies:)

Enjoy!!
