Wyeth Art and Sherwin Williams Paint Combos
Bird in the House- Andrew Wyeth
I have not been posting a lot lately and it has to do with how busy we have been. The school year has been wrapping up, the garden got planted, landscaping got a facelift and we have been enjoying time with family at the lake. Then we celebrated birthdays and holidays and just this past week we started tearing out our kitchen! With only a few days until summer school starts for both of us and full days of basketball camps this week for my husband we are doing our best to fit in this remodel where we can. So far we have pulled out all the upper cabinets and backsplash then we filled the drill holes in the drywall and painted the ceiling.

With any remodel project, big or small, you need a plan. My art teacher mind always turns to artwork for my inspiration and color pallet. Using a piece of artwork, fabric or piece of furniture is a great way to keep yourself on track in this magazine, Instagram and Pinterest world. Too many ideas can hurt you, so anchor your design to one thing you love. Our house is 1870's with deep earth tone colors, lots of natural/original wood and more windows than you can count for natural light. This combo makes me think of one of my favorite artist family's work: the Wyeth's are a three generation artist family whose deep contrast and earthy colors always speak to me. If you have never looked at the work of N.C., Andrew, or Jamie Wyeth you are missing out! Take the five minutes to Google them, you won't be disappointed.

I've paired some Wyeth art with Sherwin-Williams paint colors. I have never been disappointed with their quality of product much less Paul the super knowledgeable employee who works at our local store and the fact that they keep an ample supply of donut shop coffee on hand. If you have read previous posts about our house you will see where else I have used their paints and stains in my home.
This is our "band aid" project, our quick fix for the time being. The kitchen in our house was the most changed room over the last 100+ years, however when we moved in the kitchen was stuck in the 80's and needed love.
