Go Big or Go Home: Monster Cookie Recipe

This one is an old time favorite, a recipe I used to make for my family when I was in middle school. It is a big recipe that makes giant cookies.  While I enjoy chocolate chip cookies recipies like the one I posted here, sometimes it is fun to switch it up and make a different kind of crowd pleaser.

5 great things about Monster Cookies:

  1. The recipe makes a lot of cookies which is great for when you need to make large quantities for an event.
  2. The dough also can be refrigerated or frozen to save for later.
  3. There is no flour in the recipe
  4. There is lots of peanut butter and oatmeal so this can be considered a little healthy:)
  5. When you make this recipe around different holidays you can use different colored M&M's to make them festive.

I often cut this recipe in half and it still makes around four dozen, a whole recipe making close to eight.

12 eggs

2 lbs brown sugar

4 cups white sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla

8 tsp baking soda

1 table spoon corn syrup

1 lb butter ( no substitutes)

3 lbs peanut butter

18 cups quick oatmeal

1 lbs chocolate chips

1lb M&M's

Directions:

Starting in the order stated above, mix ingredients into a very large bowl. You may need to use your hands or two large wooden spoons to mix by the end. Heat oven to 350 degrees and place the cookies on a cookie sheet and flatten them a little with your hands. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown. Allow them to sit on the pan for a few minutes so they set up. This helps them to not fall apart when you pick them up, since they are monster cookies, Enjoy!
